The smell of freshly roasting coffee and baked bread rises to greet you as you walk through the doors of Roast, while delicious smells of the eatery’s special dishes makes your mouth water and lets you know that you are in for a real treat. The Thonglor district is famous for its excellent restaurants and Roast certainly fits the scene well.
Floor to ceiling windows inside Roast provide a bright and airy space in which to dine, while the high ceiling adds height and volume to the space. The centre of the room is filled with bistro-like wooden tables and chairs, while comfortable sofas on which to lounge while catching up with friends can be found at the edges.
Diners can take their pick from a number of special fusion dishes as well as favourites from all around the world. All of the dishes feature special imaginative touches that really make them stand out and turns a regular dining experience into something truly special. The selection of dishes is so good that you will want to make sure that you bring your appetite as well as a group of friends so that you can sample a good number of offerings.
Many of Roast’s main courses are made to share and include huge roasts with all the trimmings and large pots of fresh muscles steamed with white wine and garlic accompanied by French fries and plenty of crusty bread to dip into the sauce. Some of the other signature dishes here that are just waiting to be tried include smoked salmon salad, crab cake benedict and a filling Cubano sandwich stuffed with roasted pork, emmental cheese, dill pickles and jalapenos.
Light Bites, Drinks and Dessert
If you are simply in the mood to snack you can take your pick from a number of delicious appetisers that include juicy prawn salad, baby calamari accompanied by aioli and lemon, Buffalo wings accompanied by a creamy cheese dip and celery and the very moorish spinach dip with house made chips. However, make sure you save room for dessert. Roast is famous for their waffles that come stuffed with fresh strawberries and cream as well as a generous pot of maple syrup to drizzle on top and this is one sweet treat that you do not want to miss.
Even Roast’s coffee offers something a bit different as their signature iced latté comes in a glass filled with cubes made from coffee. Simply pour the fresh milk over the coffee cubes and sit back and enjoy this smooth and invigorating drink while soaking up the atmosphere of Roast.
Although Roast offers a decadent dining experience the prices are reasonable and this is the perfect place to catch up with friends and enjoy a meal before heading to one of Thonglor’s many bars and nightclubs.
