Bangkok has a lot of Sports bars, that’s pretty obvious. Just about everyone who lives here has a place that they gravitate to when they want to see some live sporting action. The problem is that most places never know in advance what they are going to show. Usually, someone calls in and asks to see an event and the staff does not understand what they want. Being from America, it is sometimes difficult to catch the sports I love on TV. The cable here doesn’t always show NFL football, MLB Baseball, NHL Hockey, or NBA Basketball. Until I found The Game and that all changed.
The Game is a stylish addition to the busy Nana area. I think that even though it’s always busy here most people don’t realize what a great spot this is inside. The Game is located just below Nana BTS station it has High Definition TV’s located throughout the building, you can catch all the action from any of the many seats here.
The times I have visited, it has been very busy which is always a good sign. Every Thursday is Men’s night at The Game, and most drinks are 90 baht. I ordered a couple of drinks and sat out on the balcony to smoke and relax. The open-air balconies of The Game overlook the Nana area.
I moved inside for some food and took refuge in one of their large booths. I decided to start with an appetizer and ordered the cheese sticks (120Baht). For my main I ordered the Western burger, these mountains of meat and toppings were truly fantastic. The Western burger is 180 grams of beef that is cooked to perfection by the chef. Topped with cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and barbecue sauce, it really hit the spot! Most of the burgers are in the (300-350 baht range). The Surf and Turf burger that is topped with Cajun shrimp, melted cheese and tarter sauce is a must try too!
The menu is pretty extensive and offers something for everyone. They have all your pub favorites, Thai specials, and a breakfast menu served all day. The prices are reasonable for the area and the servings are quite big too.
The daily drinks specials are another great reason to stop by. Happy Hour specials are featured nightly with a special Men’s night menu every Thursday night. There is an extensive drink menu featuring all of your premium drinks and most popular cocktails. Any one of your cocktail choices can be Super Bowl Sized making your drink three times the size.
The staff is very friendly and well trained. They are happy to help with a recommendation or to make sure you see any sporting event your looking for. The atmosphere is filled with talk and laughter like a typical sports bar. The difference here is that there is a sense of style that other venues lack in the area. So stop on in to The Game next to the Nana BTS station for a great night of sports and fun!
