Stash Bar is one of the newest bars to open along Sukhumvit soi 11. Owned by a group of French expatriates, the name “Stash” is a play on the French word for moustache which is commonly shorted to “stache” in France, hence the incorporation of the image into the bar’s sign. It also represents having a “stash of drinks”, reflecting the fact the staff are quick to see if you want to fill your glass as soon as they notice your drink is finished!
French galore at ‘Stash’
The French ownership is further echoed by the interior of the bar, which feels very chic decorated in black and white with red accessories. It is the kind of bar you would expect to find in the backstreets of Paris. The exposed brick walls add to the cool and up-to-the-minute feel.
The trendy bistro bar serves cocktails, beer and wines with promotions from 17.00 to 20.00 on some
local beers and house wines. Present drinks promotions include a glass of house Terra Antica French red or white wine for 100 baht, a glass of hour rose wine for 120 baht and buy 3 get one free on San Miguel Pale Pilsen. Three house specialty cocktails are also on offer during happy hour: tom yam (130 baht), Stash iced tea (150 baht) and mojito (130 baht).
A complimentary dish of raw carrots is served with the drinks, which makes a pleasant and healthy change (do the carrots reduce the alcohol calories consumed?!) to the usual bar snacks of crisps and nuts.
Once happy hour is over, a glass of red/white house wine is 120 baht or a carafe is 350 baht, local beers are 80 baht, Belgium beers (Leffe and Hoegaarden) are 170 baht and cocktails range from 150-170 baht and include tom yam, mojito, nigrani, naked martini, lychee mix up and long island iced tea. Shorts start at 110 baht and a variety of different brands are offered: Beefeater, Bombay Sapphire and Gordons Gin, Russian Standard, Smirnoff and Absolute Vodka and Red/Black Label, Ricard, Jack Daniels and Jim Beam whiskey. Bottles of spirits are also available to purchase.
Food is also offered with starters and creative dishes (fusion food) at prices that won’t break the bank.
