If you are looking for a way to unwind after a busy week and are ready to get into gear for the weekend, listening to the new six piece Filipino band Musika play at Nest’s rooftop lounge is the perfect solution. This vibrant band play an interesting band of soft rock mixed with a little funk and a sprinkling of blues that really hits the spot.

‘Musica’ knows how to entertain.

The band was perfectly in time and provided a refreshing change from the usual covers bands that simply go through the motions. Musika perform a number of classic tunes played with their own special twist. The vocal stylings of the male and female singers worked well together and there was plenty of room for everyone in the band to shine. Musika play with passion and it is clear from the first song that entertaining is something that runs through their veins and it is hard not to keep caught up in their infectiously fun and laidback vibes.

Musika matches the style of the rooftop bar perfectly and is really comfortable entertaining the crowd. The audience was a stimulating mix of expats and Thai professionals who really seemed to be getting into Musika’s grove and there were more than a few toes tapping as the band played old favourites such as Chris Isaac’s Blue Hotel, Just the Two of Us by Bill Withers and Have I told You Lately by Rod Stewart. Each song flowed flawlessly into the next despite the range of different styles that the band was able to offer.
