Originally from the UK, my passion for writing and prose began after joining a local comedy group where I wrote and performed sketches and stand up material. After some moderate success I began to take my writing more seriously, going on to write and perform for the Cambridge Footlights Comedy Club and writing on the Royal Court Theatre’s Young Writers Programme, learning from inspirational playwrights such as Simon Stephens and Conor McPherson.
Writing soon took over my life as I moved London full time on a scholarship with the National Film and Television School, learning my craft as a screenwriter under the mentorship of award winning filmmakers such as Simon Beaufoy, Stephen Frears, and Jan Fleischer. Here, I not only explored my passion for writing for the screen but also the joy of collaboration, working on a number of short films which hit the festival circuits. On graduation I receive my first professional commission, writing the movie ‘Tricolore’ for Film Four and went on to write the animation series ‘Zaky’s Adventures’ for one4kids productions.
Eventually my other passion, travel, began competing for my time and I found myself spending a lot of time getting lost in Southeast Asia. I somehow wound up work for a start-up magazine and creative platform on the tropical Island of Koh Samui, where my office became a white sandy beach and my business suit a 1992 replica Spurs shirt and cammo shorts. However, the draw of the bright lights of Bangkok finally became too much and I made my way to the big city.
Bangkok is where I’m now proud to call home. I’m currently here freelancing as an article and creative writer, blogger, and script writer, working on a number of exciting projects, while continuing to travel and explore in my free time.
